Awhile ago I wrote a poem

Do not mistaken my weak knee

for a weak heart

It is full,

and thick with fibers

that protect me from mushy words

and glazed green eyes.

But what if you meet someone and they throw you for a loop? And their mushy words aren’t so mushy, but more meaningful. And their green(ish) eyes aren’t glazed at all, but truly genuine.

Uh oh.

I’m still thinking this one out. I will write more soon. Until then…
